Spirit Chant

SPIRIT CHANT universal Kirtan

Chanting is one of the most direct ways to experience a divine communion and ecstasy through music. Chanting is based on singing the sacred names of God and part of nearly every spiritual tradition. The forms differ but in their essence they all approach the Divine through the ‘name’ or sacred word. In India the practise of mantra yoga has a thousand of years old tradition and Kirtan and Bhajans are a vital and essential part of the religious culture. Chanting brings peace into our mind, charges our energetic body and nourishes our whole being.

Gerhard Fankhauser (Shyam) is leading and guiding Kirtan and prayer singing circles since 15 years. He lived for some years in the foothills of the Himalayas and in his pilgrimages to the holy places in the mountains as well as in Varanasi learned and developed a very unique style of Kirtan. Living in the Middle East for many years he integrated the devotional music of that region and in many circles he is chanting Sanskrit mantras as well as Sufi prayers and own composed prayer songs.  He also combines chanting with overtone singing and leads the circle more into a universal experience of sacred voice - and sound.

Einat Gilboa brought the sacred chants of the Hebrew tradition into their work and together they’ve been guiding prayer singing circles for many years, leading singing ceremonies and also producing healing music festivals and retreats.
